North Norfolk

I walked from Wells to Brancaster Staithe today, a pleasingly varied walk with everything from peaceful pine forest the open beach and salt marshes.

I rather liked this, the footprint of a dog and his master.

White Admiral

Something a little different. I thought I’d try and track down some white admiral butterflies. They’re quite rare and are a very difficult thing to photograph because they like to keep quite well up in the leaf canopy. I think these are some of the best photos I’ve taken of them though.

The Wide View

I’m never 100% convinced about very wide angle lenses, the results of using them can be very striking but they do give such and exaggerated perspective that the images can look ridiculous. I think I’m coming around to the belief that 18mm on a full frame sensor (12mm on a crop sensor) is the ideal wide angle length.
